Project Work

For all engineering students, it is mandatory to carry out a Project Work at their final semester. The project work can be done either at an Industry or at their respective colleges. There are very few opportunity for the students to carry out a real-life project work at any Industry. Due to their ever busy schedule for production, Industry personnel cannot devote their time to guide the students and students are left to 'fend for themselves'. During the job interviews, the students are often asked about their final semester project and due to improper answers, they often get rejected.

Through the GREENPOWER initiatives of GSTEAM, we offer a real-life project of designing, manufacturing and racing an Electric Vehicle. Considering the World and Indian automobile trend towards electric vehicle, this project will update the students with 'Current Industry' trend. While working as Team for this Greenpower E-Vehicle project, the students will not only hone their technical skill, but also develop the 'Soft Skill' knowledge. Since SIEMENS is the 'Worldwide Industry Partner' of Greenpower, they will learn SOLID EDGE software for CAD design. The knowledge of at least one CAD software is a must for any Mechanical Engineering student.

Details of the Training

  • The students will form a team of 15 to 20 students.
  • They will design the F-24+ vehicle using SOLID EDGE software.
  • The vehicle will be manufactured using the college workshop infrastructure
  • Some of the vehicle parts can be built using Rapid Prototype infrastructure
  • The teams will take part in Competition (District - State - National - International level) and will be able to test their design

  • Hone their skills in basic sciences / engineering, hands on sessions will provide them an opportunity to bring their theoretical knowledge into practice.
